HAPPY CINCO de MAYO! What's new you ask?

HOLA AMIGOS!

First off, thank you everybody who came and supported us at Jammin Java this past weekend! We got to perform some new music as well as some old stuff and having you guys there made all the difference. I just wanted to give you guys an update on things and let you know about some of our plans for the near future.

As you know, we are working very hard on getting the recording done for our upcoming record release. Of course, it's going to take a little time for us to get this thing finished the right way in order to meet our standards and out-do our previous record "When the Mighty Fall". We appreciate your patience and continued support during this process.

We CAN say that the first song we have already recorded sounds AMAZING without any mixing or mastering done yet. This allows us to believe you will not be disappointed with the outcome of this record. Our plan is to release a few songs as singles one-by-one until the record is done. This will give you guys something to listen to while the recording process continues.

As far as shows go, we are considering doing the battle of bands taking place at Jammin Java in July in hopes to win some money that will go towards recording cost. Also, the winner gets recording time as well. This could be very benefitial to us and could help speed up the process of releasing our new album. We would very much appreciate your support if and when we decide it's what we are going to do.

In the meantime please continue to spread the word about Fight the Lion however you can. Our music is available for free all over the internet. Spotify is a cool place to stream bands at no charge and our previous album is available there right now. You can find our music on Youtube, Itunes, CDBaby, Amazon, and plenty of other places too! Just a simple google search will give you more options.

Now I would like to give you guys a little treat for reading this update. I've mentioned before I wanted to do a kind of "Behind the Music Blog". Well, today I'm going to pick a random song and talk about how it came about and some of the meaning behind it. Check it out!

The song is called "In or Out":

It's time to sort out all these questions with no answers

dragging me down and it feels like falling faster

like the first time

tell me now are you in or are you out

i hit the ground every time you wait every chance you waste

im turning around if you hold back any longer

give me a sound dont let my distress get any stronger

like the first time

tell me now are you in or are you out

i hit the ground every time you wait every chance you waste

wait...wait...wait...

wait...wait...wait...

tell me now are you in or are you out

i hit the ground every time you wait every chance you waste

tell me now are you in or are you out

i hit the ground every time you wait every chance you waste

Okay, so I try not to write every song about relationship drama, but it seems to be a common theme in my life lately. This song is very much about the beginning of a relationship and how it just doesn't seem to be going anywhere. One person just won't take that leap. It's not a fun place to be when you're always wondering if the other person is really all in or not. I figured there would probably be somebody else out there who could relate to this. Unfortunately, I've been on both sides of this old familiar story. Hopefully someone out there got something good out this. The song was released on our EP "All the rage in a plastic age" which you can stream on our website now.

Thanks for checking in!

Jake
